ARP head studs for Cummins 4BT ensure that the head stays in place, preventing damage to the gasket.
By increasing the performance of your 4BT the risk of causing stock studs to stretch increases. As a result, the head gasket deteriorates and the engine does not run well.
ARP manufactures the Pro Series head studs from a premium 8740 alloy. Each stud is then placed vertically in special racks and heat treated to precision at 200,000 psi.
The studs are cold forged to ensure molecular integrity. They are heat treated before rolling and machining the threads. It is this process that gives them a fatigue resistance approximately 1000% (i.e. ten times) greater than that of threaded studs before heat treatment (a very common practice in the industry).
Hardened nuts and washers complete the ARP Pro Series kit.
